Audra, my pal from Girls Think Tank, and I went and talked to some homeless
people in downtown San Diego on October 7, 2010 to get photos for the Girls
Think Tank and Amikas websites. Every time I do I'm amazed at the clarity they
have about what matters -- which is love, respect, and taking care of each
other. If you give someone $5, they say "Thanks, now I can eat." If you give
them $10, they say "Thanks! Now my friend can eat too!"
This is Charlie on the left, and Rich on the right in the Harley shirt. They say
it's not that bad living on the street, but not to tell anyone. Rich said I
might do alright since I know about camping.

Boozy/Wild Bill (in baseball cap), Blind Man David Johnson, and Too Short/Jerry, downtown San Diego, 10/7/2010. Not shown is another friend of theirs who was busy "stripping wire." They told us he was doing that like we'd understand what it meant, but I didn't. They said he'd gotten ahold of some copper wire, but had to strip off the insulation before he could get money for it as scrap.
